Closed Sight Words
1. Play this practice video to the class for review of the letters.
2. While you test each student individually (with the video below),
the class will continue studying the Silly Story
– Fat Rat And The Cat –
3. Each student comes to your desk and says the letters as they appear silently.
Keep a record of the correct answers the student makes.
4. Each student then watches this Closed Sight Word Test
and says each word before it explodes.
Keep a record of the correct answers the student makes.
Stop after the student makes 4 errors in a row.
5. When testing is done have the students finish reading aloud
Fat Rat And The Cat
6. Make a note of which students need to continue practicing the letters and words. Students who need more practice can be retested on another day.
